What is a Delivery Receipt?
A Delivery Receipt is a record confirming that an order has been received by the customer.
The receipt is signed upon delivery and acts as proof of delivery. Because of this, delivery receipts cannot be modified after they have been created.
Delivery Methods
Delivery receipts can be marked with the following outcomes:
Left at Location
The order was left at the delivery location without being handed directly to a person.Handed to Customer
The order was received directly by the customer.Collected by Customer
The customer collected the order themselves.Handed to Courier
The order was passed to a courier for delivery. This allows the delivery receipt system to be used even when your business is not completing the final delivery.
Partial Deliveries
The delivery receipt system supports partial deliveries.
For example, some items may not be accepted due to:
- Damage
- Incorrect items
- Quantity issues
These details can be recorded on the delivery receipt, along with the customer's requested next action. This allows sales and warehouse teams to respond quickly and manage any required follow-up.
Customer Portal
Customers can view their delivery receipts through the customer portal, providing them with access to their delivery history and proof of delivery records.
